We had a wonderful summer full of fun and relaxation! At the end of the Bear Lake trip we made time for the things we always skip....Aggie Ice Cream and Bluebird chocolates. Then we had a great visit with Great G&G Schaub. The week before school started we went to G&G Crockett's and took Yulia and her kids to have a final summer weekend. September has been crammed with painting the WHOLE interior of the house, soccer, football, and skateparks. Cold is setting in.... had a first hard frost last night. I rescued my tomatoes by potting them and putting them in the garage--we'll see if that works. Hi to ya'all and love ya!

July 4 Crockett Reunion:

This was the original cabin of George and Carrie Crockett--it is in incredibly good condition 100 years later! It was great to see s0 many of my Crockett family! We listened to stories of our family history and learned about the amazing faith and hard work our ancestors exhibited to homestead in Rock Creek Canyon. It was a great time.

We began the summer with a Schaub reunion in Smithfield, UT. It was great to reconnect with cousins, aunts and uncles I hadn't seen for a while! Grandma and Grandpa Schaub both turned 90 this year!

A sunny April day, creek swollen with runoff water, and a lot of mud--what do you think these 2 boys are going to do??

Spring Break---California here we come--again

We met Kym and Kristi Child's family at the beach for a little sun and fun. It was more like freeze and breeze --sorry, couldn't help it :) We were told that this beach might have sea lions--it did. Here is a dead one and we saw one in the water.

It was sooo.. windy that we soon gave up trying to fly a kite--Hallie persisted for awhile after everyone else quit trying!

We also checked out San Francisco. These streets are crazy. Can you imagine stopping at the stoplights at the top of some of the hills with a manual transmission!

I was amazed that less than 5 miles from the previous skyscrapers was a scene such as this--one with a dairy farm--surprising!

In Sacramento, we attended the wedding of Kayle's brother Krys and his fiancee Jeana. Kayle's entire family was able to come, so it was a family reunion! (We'll post pics of the wedding when we get them!) We also went to an awesome train museum near the yellow bridge above. They have the actual train engines and cars restored to perfection and you can go inside them and listen to old timers tell about what it used to be like to ride on a train in the early days. It was a great museum--highly recommend it!

Then... we had the LONG drive home. Thank goodness for movies!! What did we ever do before we had them???

We're Back!

Did I mention that life around our household is NEVER boring? March, (yes Friday)the 13th, Britain and Ben we're working on their clubhouse. Apparently, Britain "tossed" half of a cinderblock onto the roof and it slid off the other side on to Ben's head! Lots of blood--thank goodness dad is a nurse and wasn't leaving for work for another 5 minutes--'cause mom would have fainted if she had to look at it very long. Here's his head all stapled together!

Taking a bath with the cast is an ORDEAL!

Here's the story on the cast! We were all waiting in the car to go visit G.Gramma Child on a Sunday evening and Britain complained that it was cold and wanted to go back into the house to get a blanket. I told him to hurry--he did. He came barreling out of the house with the blanket in tow and soon blanket, boy, and sidewalk were all one! Somehow in the middle of the action his ankle got broken. Hopefully, he'll get the cast off by the last week of March!

We all just walked across the cattle guard and looked back to see Ben crossing it the safe way!

Yep! Kayle turned the big "4-0"! He wanted to ride a horse and the little mini motorcycle and get some fresh air--so that's what we did--at G&G Crockett's.

Kaden enjoyed snowboarding lessons that he got for his birthday. He was the only student every time--so he had private lessons! He had a great time and learned lots of new skills!

Decided to start the new year a little lighter--cut off all of my hair!

Life around here is great! We are all getting a little cabin feverish and looking forward to sun and springtime. We love ya all.
